You have your sweet baby! Congratulations! Now comes the hard part-raising the little sucker so he or she grows up to become a somewhat normal, productive, functioning member of society (and hopefully your family) all while maintaining your sanity and life.

So you're a mom...

...now what do you do? I recently had my first child in July of 2010. My husband and I were as excited as we could be to know that baby Workman #1 was on the way. I read everything I could get my hands on and sat through what probably adds up to hours of unsolicited advice from everyone and their mother. The deliver day came and went and as I like to put it was quite uneventful with the exception of my baby arriving. Nothing out of the ordinary happened and it was remarkably easy compared to all of the horror stories I had heard from everyone while I was pregnant. So I got the new baby home and the visitors left and now it's just my baby and me. I'm at a loss. I'm almost through my maternity leave and will be returning to work October 4th. I've found myself thinking quite frequently "Ok...here's this precious baby, now what?" Although I had years of experience with children and even a few babies I didn't quite know how to talk to this little girl, how to interact or even what to do at certain times. Yes, I'm your typical new parent! There were however a few things no one told me and that's what this blog is about. Those things I've experienced that no one bothered to warn me about. I hope this will help out some of the new moms that I know which turns out to be quite a few.
